Vital Statistics will soon transfer to eHealth Saskatchewan

May 21, 2013

Vital Statistics will be moving to eHealth Saskatchewan from Information Services Corporation (ISC) on Sunday, June 16. It will be business as usual for Vital Statistics at ISC until noon on Friday June 14 with eHealth Saskatchewan picking up full customer support starting at 8:00am Monday, June 17. While we will continue to provide counter service for Vital Statistics customers in the afternoon of June 14, we will be suspending Vital Statistics web services for this period to protect the integrity of customer orders and to ensure a seamless transfer of services from ISC to eHealth Saskatchewan. We apologize for this brief service disruption. Vital Statistics web services will be fully restored by end of day June 16.

On Monday, June 17, eHealth Saskatchewan will begin delivering all Vital Statistics services via:

  • the eHealth Saskatchewan website (,
  • other customer support channels (like phone, fax and email), and
  • in-person counter service in Regina.

eHealth Saskatchewan is committed to providing high-quality customer service following the transfer of Vital Statistics and ISC and eHealth are working closely together to ensure a seamless transition for our customers. Redirect strategies will be in place to ensure Vital Statistics customers that come to ISC are effectively redirected to eHealth.

The Government of Saskatchewan announced in November 2012 its intention to transition ISC to the private sector. At that time, it was also announced that personal information would remain within a government agency. Since the Vital Statistics Registry registers all births, deaths, marriages and changes of name in the province, the registry is being transferred out of ISC and will be maintained by eHealth Saskatchewan as an agency of the provincial government.

eHealth Saskatchewan is ideally suited to incorporate Vital Statistics because of robust privacy and security guidelines already in practice for safeguarding personal health information.
